Indeed, so far those two really be missing on some more characterization. Especially Rin is mostly there and barely has anything to do.

Finally, I'm fully caught up and can watch "live" again! I was worried that Arc was giving up four whole episodes to this crossover with Blazar... I mean, I love Blazar, but that's a bunch of episodes being given over to share what with how short the episode counts for these shows are. That's an entire arc of Arc! Thankfully, these first two episodes were just Arc episodes with aliens and monsters from Blazar. A nice on-ramping to a crossover that still feels part of this series. I suppose the actual crossover is just the final episode?

Totally hyped for next episode, I'm a huge fan of how the show picked up with the second half. And the 4 episode crossover surely was a good run!

Though I do wonder what will happen in the last few episodes. 20 will be Gomess and 21 King of Mons, which leaves 4 episodes. Maybe Tri-Gelos do will be the final boss?

Well, this far into Arc, I think I describe my thoughts on the series pretty easily. "Eh."

It's not bad by any means, and its worst parts are better than the best parts of R/B and Trigger. But I just feel the series is just very "Eh." I think it's ironic that the theme is imagination, and yet I think this series may be the most unimaginable New Generation series yet. Everything is so... "We've seen this done before." It's back to basics, but... Boring basics. Not saying the characters are bad, they're just... Well, we've seen all this before, and done better.

I've been watching the Ultraman Taiga blu-ray as well as Arc, so maybe I'm just a little skewered now. I can understand why the merch is said to be selling less than expected.

I can't highlight anything I really dislike about it like I can R/B and Trigger. But I also can't really think of much that I really think stands out besides the Zangill stuff. Lots of new kaiju, but I also don't think too many are all that memorable this time around. I think Nezutron and the whale kaiju are what stand out best. Once the series ends, I plan to watch it all over the course of a week or so. That'll really help me get more of a finger on what's not clicking with me this season. As I said, not a bad series. It's enjoyable. I like the episodes... There's just nothing here we haven't seen done better and more creative. The use of the armors this go around just feels lazy, for example. As does the weapon... With dice gimmick?

I liked the four-parter, but wish it was three parts instead, or at least Hellnarak appeared more. I liked what I saw, but it felt like it ate up too much of Arc’s episode count, and led towards a conclusion with a monster that we didn’t get to see too much of.

Arc isn’t as good as Blazar, Taiga, or Z (which I consider highs for current era, but I agree with you it’s mostly “eh”. The series has had some good/great moments, but it never really reaches its full potential.

I think the Givas and Zadimine episodes are pretty great though.

Wait, so apparently blazar comes back. But it’s not THE blazar but a multiverse variant? Jesus that’s disappointing

I just assumed the alternate Arc cast was just that world's doing their job as members of a different team.

What? I don’t think so. It’s true none of the Blazar crew appears, but I don’t think that’s indicative of anything. To me it just made more sense that they probably couldn’t get Blazar’s actor back or something.

It’s a bit sad to not see Gento again, but I do like how it made this still be a Arc episode.

Man... I stopped watching Blazar after 3 episodes because I found his battle noises to be so agonizingly annoying. This last episode of Arc was an abrasive reminder of that. Even my wife who usually doesn't pay attention when I watch Ultraman looked up and said "What's wrong with him??" I don't see how people could enjoy Blazar so much with those crazy annoying grunts and yells? I still plan on getting the Blu ray, but is going to be torture to get through.

I thought the battle with Hellnarak would go over more episodes? I guess a true Big Bad has yet to be revealed? I also was surprised to see King of Mons in the opening credits. Looking forward to his return.

To all you dub preservationists, my friends, you have my eternal thanks Ultraman Arc - Spoilers/Discussion - Page 7 (13) . Never stop what you do, you are amazing!

Idk about that, considering on the release day of the episode there was also a video featuring the whole cast of Arc and Blazar:

Though I assume Blazar is the same from the series. SKaRD just didn't appear.

I know many people are unhappy with Hellnarak. But I did enjoy his appearance a lot and it's actually nice to have a kaiju with great ambitions that just ain't the kind of big bad it intended to be. A very fresh take on that, cause usually a kaiju like him is unbelievable strong and wipes the floor with his enemies. Hellnarak is like Belial in Ultra Galaxy Legend or Reibatos, just without the strength. And that's cool! It makes him special as he way overestimated his own capabilities.
His army was barely any danger either. It's a danger because of sheer number and because one has to take out Hellnarak before one gets run over by them all. That's a very different take on this type of big leader kaiju in the franchise.
