The obvious choice for the best things to do in Vero Beach would be to visit its 22 miles of pristine and beautiful beaches along Florida’s Treasure Coast. Vero is known as the “gateway to the tropics,” and South Florida enjoys the same climate.

We don’t have the crowds in Vero Beach like some other Atlantic Coast beaches, but what we lack in people makes up for sea turtles. You’ll see their nests marked with orange triangles up and down the beaches. There are hundreds.

With the country’s largest population of retired millionaire CEOs (primarily residing at John’s Island), Vero Beach has enormous wealth. That translates to a great selection of thrift and consignment shops with incredible merchandise.
