She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ronald P. Anderson. She is survived by her son, Robert and his fiancee, Anne Catherine Young; half-brother, Nick Abbott; aunt, Betty Burkeybyle; and many other family members and loving friends.

Joyce was an extremely friendly and outgoing individual. She will be greatly missed by all those that were fortunate enough to have met her. She was a huge lover of all animals, and gave a good home to many pets and animals during her life. She was a long-time supporter of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and other animal rights organizations. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 6 p.m.

She worked part time as an office manager for her husband, Dr. Paul Chakola at his Zephyrhills office. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Paul L.

Chakola of Brandon; daughter, Priya Chakola and son-in-law, John Nabakavukaran of Stockton, California; three sisters, Ramani Phillip, Geeta Jinny and Lata Thomas all of India; brother Pav Anchery of India; her mother, Lily Anchery of India; and several nieces and nephews. GARDNER, Lilian 83, died peacefully at her home in Tampa on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 5:15 p.m. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Tampa in the late 50's where she worked for the City of Tampa as a contract specialist and administrative assistant, as well as an assistant to State Senator Joseph McClain, putting her education from the University of Tennessee to good use. Lilian was selected "Woman of the Year" by the American Business Women's Association and was an active volunteer with Tampa's last Super Bowl.

She was a staunch Republican and an ardent supporter and contributor to many causes, including animal rights. During her later years she attended Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church where her faith grew and was a special person to so many within the church family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Calvin and Christy Gardner of Lakeland, Florida and nephew, Milton Brooks Carew and his wife Rosalie of Salisbury, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Pauline and Brooks Carew, and half-sister, Polly Wathen and half-brother, Brooks Carew, Jr. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3501 Bay to Bay Tampa, FL 33629 at 12 Noon Monday, July 28th.
