She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ronald P. Anderson. Joyce was an extremely friendly and outgoing individual. She will be greatly missed by all those that were fortunate enough to have met her. She was a huge lover of all animals, and gave a good home to many pets and animals during her life. She was a long-time supporter of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and other animal rights organizations. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 6 p.m.

GARDNER, Lilian 83, died peacefully at her home in Tampa on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 5:15 p.m. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Tampa in the late 50's where she worked for the City of Tampa as a contract specialist and administrative assistant, as well as an assistant to State Senator Joseph McClain, putting her education from the University of Tennessee to good use. Lilian was selected "Woman of the Year" by the American Business Women's Association and was an active volunteer with Tampa's last Super Bowl.
She was a staunch Republican and an ardent supporter and contributor to many causes, including animal rights. During her later years she attended Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church where her faith grew and was a special person to so many within the church family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Calvin and Christy Gardner of Lakeland, Florida and nephew, Milton Brooks Carew and his wife Rosalie of Salisbury, Maryland.
