Be the artist you're meant to be.
Without art, the earth would be just “eh.” At JKCP, we believe we can accomplish great things by bringing a series of small things together. This course will help you focus on the small things that lead to a great work of art. Whether you are into photo-realism or surrealism, we will help you cultivate the skills that will unleash your inner artist. Color and form are two of the most important concepts in any artistic piece. You will work with different media to explore both these concepts and use a variety of different subjects to explore proportion, space and color theory. After studying these concepts and analyzing the material qualities of the paint you are using, we will practice mixing colors and various methods of canvas application. All of this will allow you to explore different techniques in watercolor and acrylic paint to help you achieve your desired painting outcome. Michelangelo always said he saw his subjects in the marble and just kept carving until he set the person free. Join us this summer and let us “set you free” to be the artist you know you're meant to be.

About Enrichment
At Enrichment for High School Students, you can pick from over 40 class offerings in the arts, science, sports, and academics. Pick one class for the morning and one class for the afternoon. You’ll pick two new classes for each week of your stay with us. There is no limit to what you can accomplish, plenty of space for imagination, and no right or wrong way to experience JKCP, the canvas is yours. We recommend doing something you already love for one of your classes and trying something completely new for the other! Summer at JKCP is the perfect time to explore a brand new interest!

Our Faculty
The instructors at JKCP are what set us apart from other pre-college programs. Professional chefs, touring tennis professionals, and award winning photographers; we select our instructors for both their expertise and their love for what they do best. This passion makes each class engaging, fun, and really different than your typical high school class.
Meagan McGinty
Meagan received her Bachelor’s Degree at Occidental College before earning a Master’s Degree in Expressive Art from European Graduate School. As an educator, she uses many art modalities to foster personal and social transformation and build the foundation for an academic or professional pursuit of visual arts. Meagan is currently pursuing her 2nd Master’s degree in Art Education at Arcadia University.

We make sure you are in an engaged, dynamic and hands-on environment where you are guaranteed to learn in a fun and interactive way. Forget about the stresses of tests, homework and grades; we believe classes should be engaging and exciting. It is summer after all!
Our professional instructors are selected based on their passion for the subject matter and their experience working with high school students. The instructors tailor the curriculum to the needs and interests of the students that week. So whether you are a beginner or expert, coming for one week or six, our classes always ensure there is something new for you to learn.
