Through today’s technology, venues, festivals, and DJs themselves can record mesmerizing sets with multiple drone and camera shots, and then upload them to YouTube so fans can witness the magic as if they were there in person.
Welcome to our monthly series, where MP3 MAG rounds up the best live sets, covering a wide spectrum of genres and electronic music-based acts. In this special edition, immerse yourself in remarkable audiovisual experiences with the top 25 sets from EDC Las Vegas 2024:
25) Öwnboss At EDC Vegas Mainstage (Kinetic Field) 2024
Hailing from Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Öwnboss is one of Brazil’s most celebrated electronic-based artists. Having already performed at Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Creamfields, Ushuaïa Ibiza, and other notable festivals and venues across the globe, this mainstage EDC LV set adds another line to his long list of career accomplishments. With a massive crowd in front of him, Öwnboss delivered the heat through a blend of infectious edits, IDs, and his signature house sound.
24) Subtronics @ Kinetic Field – EDC Las Vegas 2024 (Live Set)
Easily a fan-favorite at this year’s EDC Las Vegas, Subtronics dropped bass-fueled bombs on the crowd throughout his electrifying set. He even brought out John Summit and Tape B to get down and dirty to their upcoming dubstep remix of Sage The Gemini’s “Gas Pedal.” This set would land in the top five but unfortunately the audio is pulled from the livestream so it ends up being pretty low in volume, which is quite the opposite of the Subtronics experience.
23) ILLENIUM – EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
Similar to Subtronics, the audio is a bit on the lower end, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it is satisfying to experience this mesmerizing performance over and over again. ILLENIUM mixes in a ton of different subgenres of bass music with different energy levels, taking his audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. He queued up a bunch of his all-time classic hits as well, including “Crawl Outta Love” and his remix of Halsey’s “Without Me.”
22) Armin van Buuren live at EDC Las Vegas 2024
It is undeniable that Armin van Buuren’s festival sets are always so much fun and have the crowd dancing nonstop for their entirety. One of the headlining sets at Kinetic Field on Friday, Armin blends in tracks so seamlessly and keeps all headliners on their toes by throwing in remixes of popular pop and dance songs, then suddenly flipping the script with a spicy techno banger or underground house heater.
21) GRYFFIN LIVE @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
Making his EDC Las Vegas mainstage debut. Gryffin says he was pretty nervous going into the performance. However, based on how well-executed and flawless this set is, one would think that he had zero doubts that he would present one of the best sets of his lifetime as an artist. If you think Gryffin sticks to one sound, then watching this set will make you reconsider. He is constantly switching up the vibe and genre, catching attendees completely off guard with hits like Ray Volpe’s “Laserbeam” and songs by ELIMINATE and Subtronics.
20) Alesso Live at EDC Las Vegas 2024 (Kinetic Field)
Playing a balance of both his old anthems and new-age tech house hits, Alesso’s set has been labeled by fans as one of the best mainstage performances of the weekend. He played his latest anthems like “Zig Zag” and “Hypnotize,” along with flips of iconic tunes like “Rhythm Of The Night.” He brought an undeniable level of energy to Kinetic Field, delivering sing-a-long timeless tracks and underground heaters.
19) Jon Casey Live @ EDC Las Vegas 2024
Continuing to make waves across bass music, Jon Casey was one of the breakout stars at this year’s EDC Las Vegas. He asserted dominance over the Bass Pod’s crowd, dropping haymakers of dubstep, trap, and captivating edits. What is so impressive about this set is that Jon played nearly his own music the entire time. It is riddled with jaw-dropping IDs, and his electrifying remixes and reworks. When he did mix in tracks from other artists, these were underground bangers from artists that deserve a bigger spotlight, like L*o*J and Munchi. Hats off to Jon on this wild adventure of a performance.
18) Nicole Moudaber – EDC Las Vegas 2024
Techno queen Nicole Moudaber was not playing any games with EDC Las Vegas. Getting straight to business, she lit up the Neon Garden with techno smashers such as Raho’s “Concession,” Likan Ray’s “Get Them All,” and Oscar Escapa’s “Are You Ready.” From her 11:30 PM start time to her final song at 1 AM, the wave of sonic energy Nicole radiated never faltered once. Then Nicole hopped back on the decks for a B2B with Carl Cox to close out Friday, from 4 to 5:30 AM.
17) Mau P Live @ EDC Las Vegas 2024 – Kinetic Field
With arguably the most legendary rise to fame in the history of house and techno music, Mau P continues his dominance with a remarkable set at Kinetic Field. Bringing beats from the underground to EDC Las Vegas’s mainstage, it was only right that Mau P queued up his dance-inducing hits, from “Metro” with Kevin de Vries to “Your Mind Is Dirty” to “Gimme That Bounce.” Of course, he closed out the set with two absolute heaters, his chart-topping debut single “Drugs From Amsterdam” and his latest hit “On Again,” featuring his own vocals.
16) Boogie T @ EDC Las Vegas 2024
Throwing it down per usual, Boogie T made time feel completely irrelevant during his takeover of the Bass Pod on Saturday during prime time, 2:30 to 3:30 AM. The crowd went nuts when he mixed in an epic edit of 21 Savage’s “redrum.” He also chopped up his original anthems, with appearances from “Hit Em,” “Raven Master,” “Money,” “Silver,” and more.
15) Matroda – Live from EDC Vegas (Kinetic Field) 2024
Unfortunately the volume is a bit lackluster throughout this set, but don’t let that take away from how memorable Matroda’s set is. Inventor of the Matroda-sound, inspiring artists like San Pacho and Bleu Clair to deliver their own infectious styles of underground house music, this DJ-producer hybrid had flames erupting from Kinetic Field. Some highlights from his set are an ID remix of Travis Scott and Playboi Carti’s “FE!N,” “Gimme Some Keys,” Matroda’s “Morenita” remix, and “Can’t Fight The Feeling.” House fans are begging Matroda to drop his collaborative ID with Martin Ikin that he played about halfway through his set.
14) 𝐆𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐑 || 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 @ 𝐄𝐃𝐂 𝐋𝐀𝐒 𝐕𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒
While most people live to rage, GHENGAR rages in order to live. Judging by the way he was moving during this set, it is clear that GHENGAR would not be able to survive without constantly throwing down haymakers of riddim and dubstep onto his audience. This set is packed with a bunch of innovative flips of popular artists and tracks, weaving in the likes of Paramore, Limp Bizkit, and Spongebob. While this may seem like an odd combination, rip this set during a workout or pre-game and you’ll understand how it all fits together.
13) Alison Wonderland – EDC Las Vegas 2024
Alison Wonderland has been a staple act of EDC, both Vegas and Orlando, throughout her career. She brings the magic once again with this genre-fluid set, featuring remixes of her own original anthems from Malaa and Justin Jay. Alison also plays some of her more recent songs, such as “Thirst” and “Bad Things.” Make sure to listen to the full set for snippets of Tame Impala, Fatboy Slim, and other historic musical acts.
12) JESSICA AUDIFFRED @ EDC VEGAS 2024
The Bass Pod ladies were showing out all of EDC Las Vegas, getting the crowd off their feet and channeling their inner bass demons. Jessica Audiffred led this charge with a set that was oozing with skull-crushing riddim. Top moments have to be a spellbinding flip of Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise,” her track with DIESEL, “No Fear,” and her brand-new, hell-raising collab with Adventure Club, “HERO.”
11) MARTIN GARRIX LIVE @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
It is objective to state that Garrix is guaranteed to always find himself in the top 25 sets of any festival he plays at. One of the greatest DJs and producers of all time, and still with a long career ahead of him, Martin exceeded already through-the-roof expectations during EDC Las Vegas performance. He played thrilling mashups and OG hits like “Animals” (the original version and Botnek edit), “Waiting For Love” which he co-produced with Avicii, and “Byte” with Brooks.
10) Max Styler Live @ EDC Vegas 2024
Deemed by many as a rising artist to look out for and set to have another major year of growth towards his project, Max Styler doesn’t miss. This set is complete proof that he is going to put on an amazing house-fueled show whenever and wherever he performs. Max’s list of original heaters melted together flawlessly across this set includes “Hypnotic,” Lights Out,” “Rhythm Machine” with Westend, and “Rock The House” with FRANCO (BA).
9) SVDDEN DEATH @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
Taking down the #2 spot in our top 25 set countdown for Ultra Miami 2024, SVDDEN DEATH is back with a vengeance, once again cracking the top 10. The Bass Pod was slammed during this set, as people from across the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Camp EDC, made the trek to see this dark riddim lord in action. This set is primed to get any pent up anger and aggression out, whether you are at the gym going for a new PR or want to take a trip to a rage room.
8) Lilly Palmer live at EDC Las Vegas neonGarden
Our highest ranking techno perfromance on the countdown, Lilly Palmer is lethal behind the decks. She unleashes a stone grip on Neon Garden’s crowd, refusing to let go until techno and kick drums are ringing in their ears and playing on repeat in their heads. With underground stompers like Ueberrest’s “You Know What” and RBX’s “Enter The Game,” this a nightmare of a set that you will not want to wake up from.
7) CRANKDAT @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
Ushering in the sunrise on Saturday, Crankdat executed a set full of uninterrupted eardrum-popping trap and heavy bass. Similar to Jon Casey’s sunrise set, this one is packed with original IDs, in addition to Crankdat hits liike “Ding Dong” and “Move Back,” both dropped on Monstercat, and “Open The Pit” on Disciple. He also played flips of LMFAO, Travis Scott, Metro Boomin, Jack Harlow, and 50 Cent, to name a few.
6) Tiësto – Live from EDC Las Vegas 2024
Tiësto has a perfect track record when it comes to putting on unforgettable EDC performances, and festival sets in general. His headlining slot at EDC Las Vegas was no different. Opening with a sick intro edit of “The Business,” he played a ton of Tiësto fan-favorties, such as “Baila Conmigo,” “THE BUMP,” “Baby,” “Rhythm Of The Night,” and a bunch of others from his renowned label, Musical Freedom. He dazzled the crowd with euphoric Tiësto remixes of Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right,” Alice Deejay’s “Better Off Alone,” and Artemas’s “I Like The Way You Kiss Me.”
5) SUB FOCUS @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024 | circuitGROUNDS
Drum & bass made a substantial splash at EDC Vegas this year. One of the artists spearheading the DnB takeover of the festival was veteran artist Sub Focus, who touched down at Circuit Grounds for a fast-paced, riveting performance. One of the most popular anthems of the weekend, and even used in the aftermovie, the crowd went bonkers when he played his collaboration with John Summit and Julia Church, “Go Back.” A bunch of sick artists such as Rusko, Culture shock, ÆON:MODE, 1991, Dimension, and more are fused into this lethal set.
4) Malóne – Live @ neonGARDEN EDC Las Vegas 2024
Bringing the tech and Afro house vibes to Vegas, Club Space resident DJ and globally touring artist Malóne showed out for the cultural melting pot of Miami. This set is the definition of flawlessness when it comes to curating a groovy and sexy underground house atmosphere for an audience.
Malóne’s transition are insanely smooth and he queues up heaters from his recently launched label, WHYNOTUS, which aims to spotlight rising house artists across the world. Turn this hour-and-a-half masterclass on for pre-games, post-games, and daily activities, as it possess the ability to match up with whatever setting it is played in.
3) DABIN LIVE @ EDC LAS VEGAS 2024
The best act at Cosmic Meadow all weekend, Dabin showcased that he is not only an icon in melodic bass and dubstep, but riddim, future bass, trap, and everything inbetwen. A major component that made this set special was the amount of never-before-heard mashups he layered into his set.
Acappellas come from every direction, bridged with heavy bass and melodic buildups. All-time Dabin tunes like “Worlds Away” and “First Time” with Seven Lions wrap up the set in tremendous fashion.
2) Four Tet Live at EDC Las Vegas 2024
Four Tet put on a nostalgic set that EDC-goers didn’t know they needed until wtinessing it live. Kicking off the performance with “Gliding Through Everything,” Four Tet played a ton of classics, including deadmau5’s “Strobe” and Avicii’s “Levels.”
Constantly mixing up the genres, energy levels, and overall vibe, Four Tet demonstrated pure artistry behind the board by taking Circuit Grounds on a rollercoaster of emotions. He played some mind-boggling IDs and satisfying tracks from Caribou, Joy Orbinson, and even System Of A Down.
1) Vintage Culture Live at EDC Las Vegas 2024 (Circuit Grounds)
Another fantastic performance at Circuit Grounds, and taking the crown at this year’s EDC Las Vegas, Brazilian superstar Vintage Culture definitely earned this one. Having just dropped his long-awaited debut album, Promised Land, he weaves in irrrestible anthems from the 16-song project like “Chemicals” with GOODBOYS, “Still Don’t Know What I Want,” and an ID remix of “Weak.”
Vintage’s track selection was 100% on point, featuring ANNA’s edit of MGMT’s “Kids,” opening with a spicy house ID, and closing out with an ID from him and ARTBAT that will leave you begging for more.
